Streamside is also the home of the Orvis Michigan Fly Fishing School. Orvis Michigan students learn the details about fly tackle, aquatic entomology, fly selection, knots, and the industry’s best fly casting instruction. You’ll spend your first day at Orvis’ formal classroom in The Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, and use it’s casting field, and pond. The second day of instruction will begin in our Traverse City classroom. After lunch, you’ll spend the rest of the day in the beautiful Boardman River just south of town.  There, you'll watch presentations and demonstrations, then wade and fish the Boardman River under the watchful eye of your instructor. As an Orvis Michigan Fly Fishing School student, all tackle, lunches, course materials are provided. All you'll need is a one day Michigan fishing license, dress for the weather, and bring some excitement. We’ll provide the rest!
