Orvis' new rod series offers some of the nicest casting tools for the money that we have ever offered. It's hard to believe that for $159 you can have a decent reel, weight forward line, and a decent casting tool. I have cast them all and they are pretty good designs that will enable any eager novice to beat the learning curve and deliver a fly to the target with lots of forgiveness. Their actions are slow enough for an inexperienced hand to feel the rod load, and fast enough to offer some backbone to cast to next level.
